Billie Jean ‘Bostic’ Barewald

Obituary

Billie Jean (Bostic) Barewald passed away at Life Care Center in Columbia, Tennessee, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. Born in Mt. Holly, North Carolina, Billie graduated from the Mercy Hospital School of Nursing, after which she joined the Air Force and was stationed at Nellis Air Force Base where she met and married James Reid Barewald. They had two children, Leslie and David. Billie worked at the Stanford University Infirmary and then moved to the American Red Cross in San Jose, ending her career there as Director of Nurses and Apheresis, a job she loved.
