Obituary

Tim O’Rourke passed away peacefully on February 2, 2024 at the age of 66 years with his wife and daughter by his side. Tim was born on February 2, 1958 in Inglewood, CA to Tom and Marge O’Rourke. The family eventually relocated to Mountain View, CA in 1964. Tim graduated from St. Francis High School and received a B.S. in Economics from Santa Clara University. In 1982, Tim married Janet Sevely at Mission Santa Clara. They were married for 41 years and raised one daughter. He worked for Silicon Valley manufacturing firms Monolithic Memories, Zilog, Altera and Read-Rite. After retiring, Tim enjoyed family trips to Disneyland and traveling with his wife. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles 2356 Aerie Mtn. View for 10 years.Family meant everything to Tim. Growing up with five siblings, the O’Rourke household was always lively. He enjoyed sailing trips with his father and brothers, skiing at Lake Tahoe, houseboating on Lake Shasta, camping, family vacations to Maui, and golfing with his brothers and daughter. Tim enjoyed cooking and any time there was a family dinner at his parents’ house, Tim was either in the kitchen or manning the barbeque. His BBQ ribs, using his favorite sauce that he had shipped from Kansas City, were often requested by the family. Tim was active as a volunteer at St. Simon School and Parish. He worked at many events including the Father Murray Basketball Tournament, St. Patrick’s Day dinners, and the Rummage Sale.Tim is preceded in death by his parents and brothers Brian and Terry. He is survived by his wife Janet, daughter Meaghan, sister Kathleen Walker, brothers Mike and Kevin, and several nieces and nephews.In lieu of flowers, kindly consider a donation to a local animal shelter or pet adoption agency. A celebration of life will be planned for a later date.
